Back in Augsburg to complete

I’m back at Grandhotel, Augsburg to complete the bike opera. It’s good to be out of the safety of the Berlin studio and back into the reality of the outside and that peculiar sound world that is Augsburg. Often too so spectacularly quiet.  Now my mixing for this mobile moving sound system, the sonic bike, gets real and the hard work begins. Once over the precipice and into the audio unknowns of the street, where the lack of control and random collisions can be embraced and not found infuriating, then the brilliance and essence of bicrophonic composition can begin.  However, here, now in the Rathausplatz, the central city square where the Friedensfest banner is displayed huge with the reality of our coming event, I can’t help but feel a little daunted. Yes, our bike opera will open, free for everyone, from here, midday Thursday 19.06.25. That suddenly seems much too soon.
