Café Cosmopolis, like many things here, is run by volunteers. I ran it with Salomé last week who also taught me the secrets of the perfect hafe milch cappuccino, the mysteries of a koo milch macchiato, hygiene rules and the sliding scale of prices depending on what people can afford to pay. GHC is in financial difficulties and needs as much help as it can get, so it’s a tender path. This morning I ran the café alone, right down to being café DJ and vegan cake baker. (.. lawd how I love the baking downstairs in a professional kitchen with an immediate oven! dream on,,,) And this all of course another opportunity to meet the folks that come and go and chat about bikes with music and stories being played on the move through the city.
